On preparing for his "American Splendor" breakout role:
"There wasn't that much time to prepare. I kind of collect rare movies (my favorite movies are like really bad. Movies so bad, they're funny," and I actually found some movies that the real Toby Radloff starred in: "Killer Nerd" and "Bride of Killer Nerd." I watched those, and was able to work on his voice and mannerisms. Then, somewhere along in the audition process, or maybe after I got the part, they gave me more tape of him. I studied that for two or three weeks then drove from New York to Cleveland. I get there, and first thing was to go to White Castle because he's so obsessed with [that.] I felt getting to know Cleveland was a big part of the movie. So, I spent a lot of time in Cleveland.
On making movies:
"When I'm doing something, I never like to think 'this is going to be great' and six month later, it's edited shitty. I like to just be focused on the work and work as hard as possible and hope it comes out well.
On playing a mentally challenged guy on "Curb" and working with Larry David:
"We had to [go over] some levels of retardation . I'd go make some kind of face and talk, and they'd be 'a little more retarded.' Then I'd be like [makes a noise], and they'd be 'not that retarded.' But, I had a great time working on that. [Larry David's] very easy to get along with. The shoot is shot in a very low-budget style. There's one trailer for all the actors and directors and even Larry. He's very funny very nice and very similar to how he is on the show except on the show, he plays a guy who antagnozies people more. He seemed very together and stuff.
On the state of professional wrestling:
"I'm a huge wrestling fan, but to be honest, the past year or so, I barely watch it. My friend and I used to go to the Philadelphia and watch ECW matches at the ECW Arena all the time. I love Vince McMahon and all, but when he basically bought all the wrestling leagues, it kind of diminished the quality."
